FAMILY DAY, MARCH BREAK AND WINTER FUN IN MISSISSAUGA

Although we had a late start to winter, it seems to be here to stay now.  Snow on the ground means chances to go tobogganing around Mississauga and enjoy other fun winter activities like outdoor skating.  The winter also marks some fun events for families such as Family Day and March Break.

Tickets are now on sale for our Family Day Extravaganza and we'd love to have you join us! Mississauga also has a few other events happening for Family Day and we hope you are able to enjoy the date with those you love.

And also creeping up is March Break!  This round up of March Break camps and activities in Mississauga is really helpful for planning the week.  For most kids, 2016 March Break will run from Monday, March 14th until Friday, March 20th.  Keep connected with the Mississauga Kids Facebook page for more ideas on March Break fun as we get closer to March.

Winter seems to be passing quickly this year...hopefully we still feel that way in March and will start to see some signs of Spring!

Mississauga March Break 2010

Just one more week till March Break 2010 arrives in Mississauga! Are you looking forward to it? It is a great time to spend some extra time with the kids if you are one of the lucky ones not working. If you are working and you need childcare however it can be stressful.

We are fortunate to have many wonderful March Break Camps in Mississauga. There are camps that take your kids on wonderful trips and adventures each day. There are camps that focus on learning a language or exploring your child's creative side. There are musics camps and martial arts camps. You can find something for almost every interest.

If you are able to be home with the kids there are many March Break Activities in Mississauga. You can see Robert Munsch at the Living Arts Centre. You can attend a free movie at Mississauga's Central Library. You can take the kids to Playdium. You can spend the week helping them to get ready to perform at Cooksville Branch Libraries Talent show! You can take in a March Break Puppet Show!

What ever you decide to do make sure you have fun.

Mississauga March Break 2009 - Day 2

It's a beautiful day in the neighbourhood! (How many of us still hum that Mr. Roger's tune?) We may not be in the sunny Caribbean but Mississauga Kids are experiencing some delightful weather so far! Did you know you can always get the latest forecast for Mississauga Weather right on our main Mississauga Kids website? Just check the upper right hand corner of the page!

Why not get the kids out doors for a bit of fun this morning! From 10 to 10:45 the Mississauga Fire Department will have trucks out a the Central Library at Square One for the kids to check out. I'm guessing they may be giving out some fire safety coloring books too while supplies last. Enjoy the trucks then head inside to wonder the stacks. Hmmm wonder if the librarian could help you find a book on firetucks or firemen?

Don't forget today is St. Patrick's Day! Everyone gets to be Irish today! Just wear a bit of green and a smile on you face!

Mississauga Kids to Enjoy the March Break Holiday!

In just 20 days Mississauga schools will be beginning their traditional Spring Break holiday. Schools in Mississauga will be closed from Monday, March 16 thought Friday March 20 and will reopen on Monday March 23. Which begs the question... What are we going to do with the kids!

Some families use the time to get away together. Last year my family spent the week in Washington, D.C. touring important historical government sights and museums. We learned that "The Mall" is not a closed in Space where you shop but a big beautiful open space between all the wonderful Smithsonian Museums and many other points of interest.

Some families spend the week at the cottage or travel to a near by Resort. Wheel's Inn for example has some fantastic March Break deals and affords a bit of an escape from your Mississauga usual surroundings. Some families use the time to visit other family members wherever they may be.

If your not traveling though you have to wonder... What am I going to do with the kids? Some parents still need to work during March Break. If this is your situation you should know their are plenty of March Break Camps in Mississauga. Kids can go to sports camps, academic camps, drama camps, the list is endless. Their are full day and half day camps available as well.

For more about the March Break Camps available in Mississauga check the Mississauga Kids Website!

Next week I'll be posting information on programs available to kids and parents in Mississauga so stay tuned!
